Historical Information

Red Oak was opened in 1980.  The school year was actually started at Kingsgate Elementary because the building was not completed until October of 1980. We began with just the 100, 200, and 300 buildings and the cafeteria.  We started with no kitchen facilities and had to have food brought in daily.

In 2003 our beautiful Fine Arts building was built with money from M.A.P.S. for kids. Our gymnasium was added in 2019.

Red Oak Elementary is the only elementary school in Moore that has classes specifically for the deaf. When an addition was added to Red Oak, special rooms were designed to serve the elementary hearing impaired students of Moore.
